Giuseppe Bisicchia is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Pisa. His research lies at the intersection of Software Engineering, distributed systems, Cloud-Edge computing, and Quantum Computing, with a focus on methods and tools for executing, distributing, benchmarking, and engineering quantum programs on cloud-accessible NISQ devices. He received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Pisa with honors, defending the thesis Distributed Execution of Quantum Programs. He previously received, with honors, an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Pisa and a double-degree Master Universitario en Ingenieria Informatica from the Universidad de Malaga, where he ranked first in his cohort and received the Premio Extraordinario Jose Maria Troya. He has held two GARR research scholarships on Cloud-IoT orchestration and multi-cloud monitoring, contributing to a monitoring and benchmarking system now in production on a national federated cloud. He has been a visiting scholar at the Universidad de Extremadura and at Simula Research Laboratory. Alongside his research, he teaches Cloud Computing labs, supervises student work on quantum software engineering, organizes scientific outreach events including the Quantum Festival, and is a Qiskit Advocate for IBM Quantum.
